          Prof. Makhan Lal is a distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator in the field of Ayurveda, also served as Principal of the State Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Lucknow. He was also the Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda, Lucknow University. With nearly three decades of experience in Ayurvedic education, research, clinical practice, and institutional administration, he has made significant contributions to the advancement of Ayurvedic sciences.
         Prof. Makhan Lal completed his BAMS from State Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Lucknow, and obtained his M.D. (Dravyaguna) from C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur. Throughout his professional journey, he has served in various capacities including House Officer, Resident Medical Officer, Lecturer, Reader, Professor, and Principal, demonstrating exemplary leadership and academic excellence.
        An accomplished scholar in Dravyaguna Vigyan, he has guided numerous postgraduate dissertations and research projects, supervised doctoral research, and contributed extensively to Ayurvedic literature. He has presented over 50 research papers at national and international conferences and is the author of the book “Dravyaguna Vigyan, Vol. II.”
Prof. Makhan Lal has actively participated in and organized Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes, seminars, workshops, and Research-Oriented Training Programmes (RoTPs). His expertise has been recognized through appointments as an expert member and advisor to prestigious bodies such as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), and various academic and regulatory committees.
        Under his leadership, the institution continues to strive for excellence in Ayurvedic education, patient care, research, and community health services. His vision is focused on promoting evidence-based Ayurveda, fostering academic innovation, and nurturing competent healthcare professionals dedicated to the service of society.
